Eight rooms, each room is individual.
Ground Floor: 1 suite with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed, a spiral staircase down to a twin bedroom and a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower. 1 family room with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed, a spiral staircase down to a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower. 1 single room with ensuite bathroom with shower. 1 twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
First Floor: 1 double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. 1 single bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. 2 bedrooms both with 2 x ¾ size beds and a sofa bed, ensuite bathroom with showers. These two rooms have an adjoining corridor with doors and French windows onto a balcony.

The village of Ano Pedina began to grow in the mid 1800's. It sits in a dip on a very steep hillside and straddles a concrete road that goes straight through the middle from top to bottom. Half way up is the prestigious Red House. It stands tall and aloof amid the other notable properties of its time; the large church built in 1853, the bell tower built a few years later, the village “Plateia” with the obligatory Plane tree to sit under for shade, and the taverna for refreshment and conversation. The missing link is a school of course, and this was the purpose of the Red House. The prominence of this building equals its stature as the first school. The numerous tall slim shuttered windows made the rooms inside very bright and airy for its pupils. Although the fabulous views from each room must have been a distraction. The retained fireplaces in each room would have been welcome on cold winter days where the snow often lays a metre deep outside. Each room has central heating now for winter visitors. Rita and Yiannis have watched the village come to life as the descendants of original families have returned from Athens or afar to restore these wonderful stone houses with slate roofs to their former glory. The Red House has been a big project but a satisfying one. They have retained or replaced as many features as possible, the ornate vestibule, the wooden staircase and large windows with the stain glass inserts. The fretwork ceilings that are indicative to the area adorn the entrance and a bedroom upstairs. Yiannis has replaced the broken down outbuildings with a new natural stone one to make a kitchen, bar and restaurant. They have kept the original sterna as a back up for water. The gardens are planted up with annuals, perennials and sweet scented herbs and the patios are restored for quiet places to read and relax. The Red House is a comfortable base and located centrally for easy access to explore both by car and on foot. With Yiannis as a trained chef, you will not go hungry. Tasty, freshly prepared, wholesome dishes are offered each night in the restaurant. He will cater for vegetarians too. Rita has become well known for her homemade liqueurs and preserves. You will need to take up trekking if you stay here too long!
