Choosing a Fly/drive Holiday gives you a great sense of freedom. It is such a relief not having to be somewhere on time or having to eat when someone else wants to or having your plans interrupted. But, it is also reassuring to have Travelux in the background to give you inside knowledge on where to go, what the accommodation is like and who to turn to should you need assistance. For clients who enjoy exploring an area independently this is a perfect way of doing it. There are many options. One suggestion for a two-week holiday; you could spend one week in the mountainous region of Zagori and the second week on the Ionian Islands of Lefkada or Meganissi. You would collect a Group C car on your arrival at Preveza Airport then drive away at leisure. It is a great way to begin your holiday. The National road network is excellent and very easy to follow the scenery which is varied and beautiful.

It is possible to split your first week in Zagori between two accommodations, one either side of the Vikos Gorge. Choose which ones from the brochure. This combination would allow easy access to explore the immediate area but also further afield without spending time retracing your steps. Zagori has many beautiful traditional villages, plus the incredible Vikos Gorge. It is a paradise for painting, photography and walking. There are many other sites to visit in close proximity to Zagori such as Metsovo, Meteora, the theatre of Dodoni, plus interesting towns, monasteries and museums. Lefkada is only a two and a half hour drive from Zagori with a number of places to stop along this picturesque journey.

For the second week, choose any one of our accommodations in Lefkada or Meganissi from our brochure. Here, you can relax around a swimming pool, swim or sunbathe on one of the many secluded beaches along the west coast. Of course, there is plenty to do for the active. Lefkada Island is very green and fertile. There are many lovely views; those of grapevine terraced mountains to cobalt blue waters amid horseshoe bays. You can hire a little boat and explore some of the islands just off the east coast or visit the massive ancient city of Nikopolis. It is only an hour’s drive from Lefkada on the mainland or another option is to charter a yacht for the week and sail around some of the Ionian Islands.

Our Fly/drive programme is very flexible. We are able to tailor-make any combination to suit your requirements and can advise you on any of the accommodations since we know them all so well. You could stay in Zagori for one week only or more, or combine a Fly/drive with any other of our holidays in Lefkada or Meganissi staying for two, three or four weeks. On your arrival at Preveza Airport you will be provided with maps, suggested itineraries and self-guided walks, plus information about archaeological sites and monasteries.

The Fly/drive price is quoted per person in the price list and is for one week or two weeks in Zagori. Our inclusive prices include a Group C car, flights and any combination of hotels in Zagori featured in the brochure, on a bed and breakfast basis.
