Akrothea is set in a beautiful, natural, totally private 10 acre coastal landscape, just to the south of Agios Ioannis on Meganissi’s west coast. It is one of the finest villas we have seen in this part of the Ionian. The owners, Oscar and Sue, were involved throughout in its design and construction and the villa is finished and equipped to a very high, personalized standard.

Sue’s garden design credentials are reflected in the delightful integration of the new garden that surrounds the original olive trees and landscape which she has carefully preserved.

The floor to ceiling windows in the main room lead onto a pergola shaded verandah with seating. Descend 2 steps and you are on the large terrace looking out over the infinity edged pool to the sea and the islands beyond. The external space has been designed to give a large covered dining area, an outside kitchen with a BBQ big enough for a whole lamb and a fun relaxed covered bar space, with music facilities. The property really does benefit from amazing panoramic sea views.

Akrothea’s western boundary comprises over 400 metres of private coastline. There is a pathway through the landscape that leads to stone steps to the sea. This is an ideal spot for local snorkelling and swimming. A shallow, secluded beach is a very short walk from the main gate.

A 15-minute walk from the house past ‘Peter’, one of the local donkeys, and you come to an idyllic waterfront taverna set in a sheltered bay with small jetties to accommodate visiting boats. The restaurant is sited in a large garden, which is very child friendly allowing safe play while all enjoy the home cooked local food.

Meganissi’s 3 main villages, well described elsewhere in the Travelux brochure and web site, are a short drive with Spartachori less than 10 minutes drive away.

N.B. Our villa price includes a 4WD car for the full duration of your stay. Also included are return taxi transfers from the airport and return boat transfers from Lefkada to Meganissi. Over 5 persons will require a second vehicle at an additional charge. A complimentary food hamper will be in your villa on arrival.
Boat hire is highly recommended and can be rented daily, weekly or for the full duration of your stay and moored close to the villa..
