Outside: A lawned area surrounds the villas, dotted with shrubs and olive trees. A sweeping driveway, lit at night, leads to the parking area behind the villas. Each villa has a swimming pool, natural stone patio with sunbeds and patio furniture. There is a cloam oven and B.B.Q. for both villas to share. OLIVE GROVE AND HILL VIEWS.

For anyone wanting to avoid too many hills or steps either of these two villas would be a good option. It is rare to find a level site on this hilly island, and be within easy reach of all amenities, just 2 km from Lefkadatown and the nearest beaches. This fertile area contains many fruit and olive trees with lush grass beneath for goats to graze. The neighbours still harvest their crops and prune the trees, saving the logs for winter fuel. This level plateau is best appreciated on a bicycle. A gentle ride down the rural tracks can lead you to the ancient windmills on Agios Yiannis beach or past the salt lakes to Gyra beach. In town, it is easier to park a bike than a car although collecting provisions is more practical in a car! These recently built villas are fresh, modern and brightly decorated with all the necessary amenities for comfort.

It is not possible to mistake one from the other. They are named after the fruit trees, Portokali meaning Orange and Lemoni meaning Lemon. One of the villas has the original single cast iron bedsteads from the owners Grandmother's hotel from many years before. With a fresh coat of paint and a new mattress they are full of character and as strong as ever. There are comfy chairs and a sofa that look out of the patio doors and onto the brilliant blue water of the swimming pool. Although the pool is unguarded and the villas aren't purposely built to be child friendly, they are still an excellent choice for young families. There are no sharp drops or numerous steps, just plenty of space to run around outside.

The gardens are maturing quite quickly. Shrubs and trees have been planted to provide seclusion and climbers are entwining themselves around pillars and over pergolas for natural shade. In a few years the climbers will replace the sunshades and umbrella over the patio. Sunbeds, chairs and a sturdy dining table have been provided for a perfect day of relaxation.

Beyond the boundaries the hubbub of rural life continues to ring out across the plateau: a braying mule, a peal of church bells and a woman calling to her family for a meal. A distant radio carries the sultry rhythms of Epirot music as the sun slides down behind the hills.

N.B. Our inclusive prices include a Group C car for the duration of your stay and will be collected/returned to the airport. The area is ideal for cycling and bicycles can be hired weekly.
