I am pleased to present our 2012 brochure, which I hope you enjoy reading. Whether you are a returning regular or someone new to Travelux I extend a warm welcome.

Travelux, a fiercely independent owner managed company, has been around far longer than the majority of travel companies. We are one of the few that have not changed hands to become part of a multi-national organisation. 2011 will be our 39th year in the travel business.

The 2010 summer threw up a number of challenges for the travel industry. The Ash Cloud, the European economy and some airline failures to name a few. I am happy to report no Travelux client had their enjoyment curtailed or were fi nancially aff ected. We always emphasize our commitment to customer service and that our product is completely protected fi nancially. 2010 certainly put us to the test and I am confi dent we passed that test. I feel the fact our programme is 100% guaranteed is vitally important given the current economic climate.

There can be no doubt that we are in a fortunate position. The islands of Lefkada and Meganissi are so diverse and particularly beautiful, that it does encourage people to visit again. That being said, we do choose not to advertise in the conventional manner in today’s competitive market place. Of course, we do have our website, however the bulk of our bookings come from recommendations and a select number of like minded independent travel agents plus the many regulars who continue to support us. A special thanks to them once again. It does mean our guests tend to be those looking for an alternative to the impersonal multi-national travel companies.

We are members of AITO and are fully bonded with ABTA and the CAA. Do remember that over half of on-line bookings are not guaranteeing your money.

Travelux is based in Tenterden in the Weald of Kent and has been a member of ABTA for 38 years, and a long established member of AITO. Linda Herbert, Bob Cooper and Ian Hopley own and manage the company.
